Something New, Something Good
Starting something new is always pretty scary. Making and creating for others is a vulnerable endeavor. And as Jesus followers, we tend to realize fairly quickly that His ideas are different than ours. His ideas are perfect. So we start, share our dreams and create something that He makes beautiful. We are in the middle of that here at Bountiful Tables. Plugging away, with our 13th cooking time today. We are seeing the Lord add such special things to this little moment we share.
One of our favorite surprises is the joy of sharing fully cooked meals with our friends and neighbors. These folks are in various seasons of life and the help of healthy, home cooked meals has been a big gift to them! We love preparing food for these precious people. Their financial contributions have helped us keep our costs lower.
With our commercial kitchen license obtained, we are also reaching out to the community more. We will offer monthly fundraisers to further off set our operating costs, keeping the cost to our families as low as possible.
This Monday we will cook our meals, and then stop to have one big family meal together, before going home. We are so excited about this community dinner, connecting our mother’s who are in the kitchen cooking, with our neighbors who are purchasing these meals.
What we saw as a slow start this Summer has bloomed so quickly into a beautiful community table that we are sharing weekly. God’s ideas really are the best, and we are so grateful to be a part of what He is doing.
